The following is the text of an overlay box I've stuck on my site today, which should only appear for you once and only within the next day or two:
Please excuse this interruption in your regularly scheduled surfing.
Last night, in front of the Max & Erma's restaurant where we had our first date, I dropped to one knee, presented Miss Alexandra Asher Arnold with a ring, and asked her to marry me.
And, you know what...?
SHE SAID YES!
I am now the luckiest nerd in the universe.
I love you, Alexandra!
If you'd happen to like to see the box again while I've still got it on the site:

Congrats!
She does know what she's getting into, right?
Oddly enough, I think I've more than met my match.
Here's an old LiveJournal post of mine, if it's any indication:

Ah--congratulations!
Les, Alexandra - Congratulations, and Best Wishes!
Congratulations from Madrid, Spain!!
Love's cool!
I love you Miriam!
Did she have the old BBS files on a disk somewhere then?
(From a comment on that LiveJournal post: "Dude. The last of a dying breed. Snag her quick. And if she has all her old bbs text files still on a disk somewhere... MARRY HER. ;D")
Congratulations!
Ah, nerd love. It's so geekily sweet.
Congratulations, you two, and may you be very happy together.
Congratulations!
You and whathisface, you know, the less handsome, movie actor... Anyway, congratulations!
P.S. See where love can get ya!

Congratulations! And don't fuck it up
Toldja geeks rule! Congratulations to you both.
Ah, so she does know what she's getting into! Awesome
Just to beat my own geeky chest a bit, back in college I started to write my own BBS system. On my Radio Shack Color Computer (1MHz 6809, 64K of RAM). With floppy disks (2 double-sided 5-1/4" 80-track drives, no HD). And a manually operated 300baud modem (I hacked auto-answer by running the ring signal to a joystick port). And I was basically writing my own customized file system to implement a fixed-size message queue that would automatically drop out the oldest messages. In BASIC.
I was probably about 80% done before some other project distracted me from finishing it
Congratulations Les! Ed
Congrats to both of you.
I'll refrain from humming the Queen song under my breath while I send you both my felicitations and hopes for a long, happy, and, most importantly, fun life together.
Congratulations!
Congrats!
Rock on!
Congratulations.
May your union be successful and lasting.
Congratulations!
Well, I was just surfing in search of blosxom plugins, but when I saw the text box I couldn't help but smile
But that's probably because I'm in love, too.
(¡Te quiero, Pili!)
Greetings from Spain
Les, congratulations! I'm so happy for you.
Congratz! I don't quite remember how I proposed (definitely no kneeling) but I now regret having done more...cuz she bugs me about it still.
Congratulations! As a newlywed myself (today is our two day anniversary), I can say from experience that being married is awesome to the max.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy life together.
Hooray for you guys!
All the best...
Congratulations!
Congrats old man! Wish you both the best!!!
Congratulations!
That's the first engagement announcement I've ever seen via RSS... and there I was thinking the day was out of suprises.
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Les pushing the little geeks to code in Python.
"But, Dadddddd, Python is so... old-fashioned."
(grin)
